What is the difference between an authorized and an unauthorized call?

An authorized call is a call made with a hands-free kit or through a system such as Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. This means the phone was not used to make the call. These calls are displayed in green on the map and do not penalize your distraction score.

Unauthorized calls are, on the other hand, those that are not made with a hands-free kit. They are displayed in red on the map and decrease the distraction score.

Be careful! When you make phone calls while driving, you reduce your attention on the road and increase your risk of an accident.
