The algorithms for calculating driving indicators essentially use data from your smartphone's GPS sensor:
- The speed of travel;
- The direction of travel (or heading);
- Elevation (which makes it possible to estimate the slope of the road);
- The accuracy of the measurement (which can vary depending on the position, conditions or sensor);
- The time corresponding to each measured point.
These quantities are essential to characterize the forces that apply to a vehicle traveling on the road. Our algorithms use physical models and fundamental relationships that govern vehicle dynamics.
