How does the auto mode work?

It is not necessary to open the app to analyze your driving, keep it in the background and let yourself be guided. The app analyzes data from the phone's various sensors to detect your trips. The triggering mechanisms are optimized and do not consume the phone's battery when you are not driving. For this purpose, the app identifies the movements of the phone that are characteristic of motorized movements.

• On Android, the app uses the accelerometer, which is a low-energy sensor to detect an acceleration that can be achieved in a vehicle. Then it will activate the GPS to validate that the travel speed is similar to a vehicle trip.
• On iOS, the app uses triangulation against the GSM antenna to identify that a significant displacement has occurred and that it is probably a motorized path. Then it activates the GPS to validate that the travel speed is similar to a vehicle trip.

The app is also compatible with Bluetooth transmitters. In this case, the detection is different and the app will be triggered near the transmitter. For more information, read the Beacon section.
